About The Position

The Lead Nutrition Sales Consultant delivers a best-in-class, consultative experience for pet parents, helping them understand and adopt human-grade nutrition for their dogs. This role serves as the in-store sales and nutrition expert, guiding personalized feeding solutions through discovery-based conversations while driving sales through education, trust, and product expertise. The Lead also models strong selling behaviors and helps manage and coach the sales capability of the store team.

Requirements

  • One or more years as a lead associate or keyholder in retail or a similar industry; pet supply category experience preferred
  • Available to work 30-40 hours a week with open availability throughout the week, including weekends.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Skilled in managing daily operations, inventory, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Strong background in resolving customer complaints and driving sales through engagement and merchandising.
  • Excellent multitasking, time management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable with change in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Enthusiasm for pets, nutrition, and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the store’s nutrition and sales expert and drive sales through consultative, relationship-based selling, confidently communicating the benefits of premium, human-grade nutrition and building trust with pet parents.
  • Model best-in-class selling behaviors for the store team, demonstrating how to effectively engage customers, recommend products, and create a premium in-store experience.
  • Coach and manage onsite team members in strengthening their product knowledge and helping elevate overall store performance and customer engagement, including coaching and training to achieve store sales goals and key performance metrics.
  • Establish and maintain Customer Relationships; provide quality follow-up and ongoing support for customers.
  • Actively seek and engage in community partnership opportunities and events that drive brand awareness.
  • Partner with Manager to recruit, hire, and onboard new team members and in coaching development opportunities.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to the needs of the business and defined payroll budget.
  • Ensure all JFFD policies and procedures, including safety, security, merchandising, inventory management, housekeeping, and point of sale duties are executed to company expectations.
