This position is at Thompson Hospital a Magnet-designated hospital in beautiful Canandaigua, NY! Nocturnist Schedule is 5 days on 10 days off! Responsibilities: The Hospitalist physician must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to adult patients served in a hospital inpatient setting. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and to the care needed. The physician must have knowledge of, and exhibit documentation within guidelines for, patient specific information for the medical record, daily charge sheets for visits, and prescriptive requisitions. Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with hospitalist staff, House Staff PAs/NPs, nursing staff, partnering physicians, case managers, medical specialists, management and administration. Exhibits leadership skills through active involvement in process improvements leading to delivery and maintenance of quality services while striving to achieve financial viability of the hospitalist program. Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system. Works with hospitalist administrative staff to optimize physician scheduling for admitting and nocturnist shifts Responsible for nocturnist shift planning, coverage coordination and maintains oversight of clinical and administrative hours for nocturnist team Collaborates with Utilization Management to ensure accurate admission status for all admitted patients Participate in quality review and contribute to clinical performance evaluations Hold regular documented meetings with admitting/nocturnist providers to discuss systems/patient flow quality, improvement in scheduling and patient relationships. Support compliance with regulatory standards and internal audits Assist in onboarding and orientation of new physicians Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
