About The Position

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to join the Secure Network Services (SNS) team within Application Hosting. This role is pivotal in delivering foundational network infrastructure that supports Technology Infrastructure products across Wells Fargo Data Centers. SNS also enables secure connectivity to business partners, the public Internet, and major Public Cloud Providers. As part of our transformation journey, we are accelerating network capacity provisioning through full automation—enhancing transparency and efficiency for both consumers and operators throughout the infrastructure lifecycle. In this role, you will: Lead resolution and implementation of complex technical issues across large-scale network systems and applications Utilize diagnostic and simulation tools to troubleshoot, maintain, and restore services Evaluate data queries, create procedures, and perform limited programming to optimize systems Research performance trends and recommend process improvements Manage complex migrations, upgrades, installations, and configurations Assess production changes for risk, ensuring compliance with quality, security, and regulatory standards Identify technology process gaps and recommend improvements to meet SLAs Collaborate with peers, managers, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and achieve goals Execute network changes via change control processes and support enterprise-level engineering projects Design, validate, and document B2B infrastructure services Ensure adherence to technology standards, design principles, and architectural guidelines Partner with Project Managers, Product Owners, and Application teams Drive modernization efforts and decommission legacy technologies Mitigate risks and manage dependencies to ensure proper sequencing and execution Align with Wells Fargo’s Risk Management policies and procedures

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing LAN/WAN/Datacenter solutions for large enterprise environment
  • 5+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP, Static) in a large enterprise environment
  • 5+ years of experience with configuration of routing and switching latest platforms and solutions - Cisco Nexus and/or Arista product line

Nice To Haves

  • CCNA, CCNP/DP or CCIE Certification preferred - Datacenter
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science / engineering
  • Demonstrated skill with creating and/or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams
  • Experience with scripting YAML/Python/Ansible/GITHUB
  • Experience working in a Product/Agile environment utilizing Atlassian Jira products
  • Experience and familiarity with Change control processes - Service Now
  • Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and relationship building skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio Professional
  • Experience with regulatory and auditor collaboration
