About The Position

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team in LaVergne, TN (Greater Nashville area). This person will design, build, and optimize the systems that allow our data to be gathered, ingested, stored, analyzed, transformed, and distributed. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of data pipelines, from ingestion to the creation of Operational Data Stores (ODS). Lead Software Engineer acts as the senior/lead technical programmer in the team, owns the solution stack, and has an appetite for problem solving. Delivers results through independent contributions and mentoring of junior engineers. Works with the data architect, CI/CD architects, and other engineers to build and deliver world-class data platforms. This position will be hybrid and work from the Ingram headquarters 4 days per week. Want to help explore and build new ways to deliver content to the world? Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, IT, or a closely related technical field or year for year experience.
  • 8+ years in advanced programming languages
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft .Net stack
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and deployments
  • High level knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming
  • Knowledge of and in depth understanding of the business or function for which application is designed
  • Strong knowledge of Architecture Best Practices
  • Deep knowledge of Security Best Practices
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design

Responsibilities

  • Leads a group of developers; sets direction, monitors, and provides technical oversight to their activities.
  • Defines and executes software development processes and controls to ensure each development initiative meets user and business requirements on a consistent and repeatable basis.
  • Designs and leads others in the development of custom software to meet business and user requirements.
  • Acts as technical lead and provides application development oversight and involvement for Third Party integrations.
  • Designs and implements solutions to solve business requirements.
  • Documents solutions and assists in the training of end-users on implemented solutions.
  • Develops and manages development resources for overall IT project plan, including communicating progress to senior management.
  • Formulates/defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects.
  • Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Performs program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Instructs, leads, and checks the work of other systems analysis and programming personnel.
  • Creates project plans and communicates status and issues.
  • Leads team Root Cause and Corrective Action Initiatives.
  • Coaches and mentors’ junior engineers.
  • Researches and instructs team on new approaches to software development and technology solutions.
  • Leverages a technical network to collaborate within the Ingram IT organization.
