About The Position

As the software engineering lead at Publix Technology, you will be responsible for developing features on Publix.com as part of the Digital Merchandising & Savings team. This hybrid position requires 8 days per month on-site in Lakeland, FL, and involves working within an Agile software development team to create high-quality, scalable, and high-performing code using various technologies including C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, and JavaScript. You will also participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and lead engineering initiatives to enhance customer-focused solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience with .NET and C# development.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting customer-facing, e-commerce websites and APIs.
  • 3+ years of experience with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • 3+ years of experience developing applications in Azure.
  • Experience implementing software using Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerization technologies.
  • Experience with event-based and micro-service style architecture.
  • 9+ years of experience with .NET and C# development.
  • Experience with source control systems using GIT and Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL, CosmosDB, and Databricks.
  • Experience with Azure Functions.
  • Experience with Agile software development processes and Scrum.
  • Experience with unit testing and automation frameworks.
  • Experience using logging and diagnostic tools in Azure to discover, diagnose, and solve problems.
  • Experience building highly scalable systems and performance tuning them.
  • Experience with PowerShell.
  • Experience with Solr.
  • Experience developing websites using Sitecore Content Management System or other content management systems.
  • Experience with Vue.js or other frontend JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience with analytics, feature flag, and experimentation tools such as GTM, Optimizely, Launch Darkly, and Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience building websites to meet WCAG ADA compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in architecture and design discussions with cross-functional team members.
  • Sit in on code reviews with the engineering team and provide guidance and feedback post-review.
  • Perform hands-on development work for assigned engineering projects.
  • Lead engineering initiatives for the Digital Merchandising & Savings team when called upon.
  • Drive continual delivery of improvements to applications and technology through sound Agile development practices.
  • Help advance the customer-focused journey.
