About The Position

The MRI Lead Technologist performs MRI procedures and related techniques, producing diagnostic images for a licensed independent practitioner to interpret. The Lead Tech is responsible for managing the daily activities of technical personnel assigned to the MRI department, including trainings, staffing, education, and performance evaluations. Requirements

  • 3-5+ years experience as a MRI Technologist
  • 1 year of experience in MRI department (required)
  • Associate's from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (preferred)
  • Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care)

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in MRI department
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS)
  • Associate's from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care)

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge in workflows, procedures, operation, and processes of the MRI imaging modalities.
  • Selects appropriate MRI pulse sequences adhering to established protocols.
  • Applies principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
  • Identifies, prepares, and administers medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Works closely with other modalities and departments under the direction of the Radiologist.
  • Managing the daily activities of technical personnel assigned to the MRI department, including trainings, staffing, education, and performance evaluations.
