About the position

Medical City McKinney is seeking a Lead MRI Technologist to join their team. This position involves directing daily operational flow and patient care, performing quality MRI scans on all ages under the direction of a Radiologist, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic diagnostic environment. The Lead MRI Technologist will participate in departmental performance improvement activities, ACR accreditation, and ensure compliance with practice standards and magnet safety guidelines. The role requires on-call availability and participation in staff meetings and ongoing education.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operational flow and patient care.
  • Perform superior quality MRI scans on all ages under the direction of a Radiologist.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic diagnostic environment based on practice standards and magnet safety guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities and ACR accreditation.
  • Schedule and attend staff meetings.
  • Stay current on all licensures and assigned courses (Healthstream).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved school.
  • Acute care facility experience preferred.
  • Registered with the ARRT (MR) and/or ARMRIT.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Proficiency in starting intravenous lines.
  • Ability to take call and respond to acute care needs.
