The Lead MRI Tech coordinates with the Supervisor Radiology and/or Manager Radiology to ensure adequate resources are available for timely and quality exams, meeting department quality and safety standards. This role may involve assigning personnel on a shift to specific jobs and adjusting assignments as exam volume demands. The Lead MRI Tech plays a key pivotal direct clinical support role to a manager, supervisor, or director within the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • LIC-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Licensure-Others
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Advanced Anatomy & Physiology Knowledge
  • People Management (Novice) including conducting performance reviews, effectively delegating tasks, coaching subordinates, demonstrating team building techniques, providing leadership through personal example, involving subordinates in decisions, and demonstrating self-reliance and resourcefulness.
  • Advanced Patient Documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a shift lead or key pivotal direct clinical support role for all levels of the MRI Technologists.
  • Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost effective imaging.
  • Applies broad range of skills to ensure advanced exams are completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
  • Coordinates with the Supervisor Radiology and Manager Radiology to ensure adequate staffing model is maintained for shift.
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.
