About The Position
Big Sky Resort is looking for a lead bike mechanic that is a self-starter, problem solver with great attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience of maintaining a large rental fleet and managing a bike shop. Day-to-day tasks will include conducting routine maintenance on bikes, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues and providing appropriate solutions. Provide training for all mechanics and rental technicians.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of bike mechanic experience and bike knowledge is required
- Ability to be autonomous, prioritize workday, multitask and be detail-oriented
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with modern suspension systems
- Proficient in hydraulic braking systems
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Fleet of 70+ rental bikes capable in difficult rebuilds and efficient in everyday upkeep parts ordering for shop rental fleet and customers
- Lead a team of mechanics and rental technicians
- Provide ongoing training to team members
- Responsible for properly taking in all retail service work
- Maintains a clean and safe workplace
- Perform other duties as assigned
