About The Position

We’re looking for a skilled Lead Mold Maintenance Technician to take ownership of mold performance, team leadership, and continuous improvement in a high-performing injection molding environment. In this role, you won’t just maintain molds—you’ll drive uptime, mentor technicians, and partner across teams to ensure world-class quality and efficiency. As a key leader on our maintenance team, you will: Lead & Develop a Team – Guide, support, and hold accountable a team of mold maintenance technicians while reinforcing safety and quality standards Own Mold Performance – Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and full tear-downs/rebuilds to ensure molds are production-ready Troubleshoot with Expertise – Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues quickly to minimize downtime Drive Quality – Inspect molds and molded parts, partnering with production to ensure consistent, high-quality output Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Work closely with engineering and production teams to solve problems and improve processes Improve the Operation – Identify and implement opportunities to reduce downtime and increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Manage Tools & Inventory – Ensure critical parts, tools, and supplies are available when needed Document & Standardize – Maintain accurate maintenance records and help evolve SOPs and best practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of mold maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Deep expertise in mold repair and injection molding systems
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication and team leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with OSHA and ISO 9001 standards
  • Basic computer skills (ERP systems, Microsoft Office)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
  • Certifications such as RJG Master Molder, Lean Six Sigma, or similar
