About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks middle school teachers for our 5th through 8th grade classrooms in the 2026-2027 school year. Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader. OUR CURRENT MODEL There are four “home room” teachers on each grade level who are each responsible for teaching a single core subject. (For example, there are four teachers on the 6th grade team; each staff member teaches every student on that grade level for their assigned subject.) Class size is typically about 25 students per class. Subjects on each grade level include English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science. This posting is specifically for those candidates interested in teaching social studies. Please note within the application if you have grade level preferences. Relevant certification should also be indicated in the application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in one of the following areas: Elementary Education K-6 for positions in grades 5th or 6th OR Social Studies 5-9 OR Social Science 6-12
  • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
