About The Position

Palm Shores Behavioral Health is currently seeking a full-time Lead Mental Health Tech. Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11-17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home. We are a proud provider of the Patriot Support Program. The Lead Mental Health Tech (LMHT) performs direct patient care duties in a residential behavioral health setting. The LMHT is responsible for supervising the patient in treatment, recreation, educational settings, and other activities of daily living to assess changes in their social behaviors and clinical status. Unit supervisory functions include but are not limited to: ensuring the program schedule is being followed, assignment of unit tasks, ensuring hospital policies are enforced. LMHT's are responsible for understanding and using the least restrictive interventions per facility policy and successfully avoid seclusion and restraint whenever possible.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (required).
  • College courses or degree in field preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 ground Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
  • Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting working with children and/or adolescents.
  • Prior MHT experience required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
  • Successful completion of CPR Certification and Handle with Care training within 7 days of employment.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Physical agility to manage patients, including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
