About The Position

Requirements

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Six months of clerical, office, customer service, or administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical flow processes.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and delegate tasks.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with individuals and teams.
  • Ability to provide staff development and training.

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a medical or administrative setting.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling, canceling, and re-scheduling patient appointments and consults.
  • Entering no-show information and monitoring electronic wait lists.
  • Preparing for clinic visits and maintaining medical outpatient and inpatient charts.
  • Monitoring both inpatient and outpatient appointments for areas of responsibility.
  • Obtaining medical information from patients and coordinating care-related actions.
  • Ensuring encounter forms are completed for appropriate workload credit.
  • Verifying and updating patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Monitoring the Interdisciplinary Team setup to support VA clinics' needs.
  • Managing consult metrics to verify accuracy and resolve issues.
  • Participating in team meetings to provide input on operational issues.
