Work Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Union Position: No Department Details The Blood Bank Database Coordinator supports the integrity, compliance, and functionality of blood bank computer systems. This role ensures regulatory compliance, accurate system interfaces, validated software changes, and reliable support of blood bank, donor, billing, and hospital workflows. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with AABB, CAP, and FDA regulations related to Blood Bank computer systems Manage change control, software upgrades, and validation processes Review, update, and maintain SOPs and required documentation Monitor system interfaces (HCLL/Epic) and investigate/correct errors Support donor, component room, patient, and transfusion workflows Maintain Blood Bank systems including WellSky, Hematrax (ISBT), and Epic Support hospital billing, work queues, patient merges, credits, and adjustments Participate in Enterprise meetings and committees related to Blood Bank workflows Summary Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Day-to-day lead and acts as the point person in the absence of a supervisor. Job Description Collect laboratory specimens, as needed. Process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures. Demonstrate skill in use of equipment relevant to position. Demonstrate critical and independent judgement in decision-making and problem solving. Demonstrate personal commitment to the principles, values, and ethics of the organization to promote a positive work environment. Seek personal learning opportunities. Recognize safety hazards and comply with all safety practices and protocols. Assists in the training and competency assessment of staff. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Participate in validations, proficiency testing and evaluation and quality assurance initiatives. Provide feedback for performance appraisals. Perform other related duties as assigned. May be required to travel to other locations.
