The Lead Medical Coordinator is responsible for assessing, facilitating, and monitoring all components of client medical services within the program. The LMC is devoted to overseeing the medical care in a shelter setting with the emphasis on disease prevention, health wellness, and maintenance. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with State licensing, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), and all policies and procedures implemented by David & Margaret. Roles and Responsibilities: Provides direct patient care, including assessing health conditions, administering medications, performing TB tests/explaining test results, monitoring vital signs, and creating and executing patient care plans. Ensures all infection control, OSHA, CDC, and State licensing guidelines are followed and maintained in all departments. Creates strategies and action plans for the prevention of infectious disease outbreaks. Investigates possible outbreaks and coordinates proper resources in response into any confirmed outbreak. Maintains and implements any recommendations given by the Public Health Departments, CDC, and ORR DHUC. Coordinates and supervises medical staff and is responsible for evaluation of their performance and skills. Facilitates and/or coordinates meetings, training, and presentations for professional development of the medical staff and other staff as needed. Provides quality assurance for the medical department to include the following (not limited to): Oral, written, and statistical reports, presentations, auditing of electronic medical records, maintaining all medical department electronic systems (UC portal) and all medical documents completed and provided by the medical department. Provides health management, effective communication, and leadership in the execution and direction of quality services to minors, and when applicable staff. Performs and coordinates clinical care as follows: maintains medical supplies and prescribed medications, follows standing orders, State licensing, and D&M policies and procedures for providing over the counter medications to minors, assist in preparing youth for examinations, and any other medical tasks as needed. Communicate, coordinate and schedules all psychiatric and psychological appointments for youth when referred by clinical team. Develop and expand medical, specialty and dental services with local providers. Coordinating the staffing of medication errors, significant incident reports and other incidents as needed. Immediately respond and attend to individual emergency medical needs. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality (including HIPAA), and ethical standards enforced by David & Margaret. Provide LTFC program support by submitting TARS and auditing portal/charts ongoing. Other duties as directed
