About The Position

Under the direction of the MA Supervisor, you will assist with optimizing patient flow and quality care, including oversight of medical assistants. This position is responsible for assigning and assisting with patient preparation/rooming patients. The Lead MA keeps exam rooms clean and stocked. They will also clean and sterilize equipment/instruments as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years in MA position; demonstrated leadership in previous MA positions.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills in all interactions and communications with patients and their families, co-workers inter and intra departmentally, and visitors
  • Computer skills and knowledge of word processing
  • Ability to work with staff at all levels, while remaining proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and oversees work activities of medical assistants under the direction of the MA Supervisor and Director of Clinical Services.
  • Work collaboratively with the MA Supervisor to train and manage medical assistants in the performance of their duties by establishing priorities and expectations, setting goals, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Assist with clinic scheduling, problem solving, patient wait times, and other areas of concern to increase efficiency and quality services.
  • Assist MA Supervisor with maintaining needed clinic supplies.
  • Assigning and assisting with patient preparation/rooming patients.
  • Obtain medication prior authorizations, notifies patients of normal test results, and keeps exam rooms clean and stocked
  • Cleans and sterilizes equipment as needed
