About The Position

The Lead Medical Assistant is a healthcare professional who is an essential member of the patient-centered health care team. This individual is responsible for assisting the manager/supervisor with daily operations, which include staff assignments and acting as a resource for the patients, providers and support staff in the absence of the manager/supervisor. The Lead MA can also be responsible for assisting with new employee on-boarding and orientation as well as ongoing training for all medical assistants. This individual will act as a liaison to the manager/supervisor regarding issues resolution. The Lead MA will also be expected to perform all tasks of a MA and MA Senior.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience as a medical assistant or in the field of the credential held.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One of the following certifications or licenses: Military Medic/Corpsman training, Credentialed in ABR-OE, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NRCMA, CCMA, Certified Paramedic, Advanced EMT, or graduated from an accredited LPN program with a current active LPN license.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in designated specialty and/or other ambulatory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the manager/supervisor with daily operations.
  • Manage staff assignments.
  • Act as a resource for patients, providers, and support staff.
  • Assist with new employee onboarding and orientation.
  • Provide ongoing training for all medical assistants.
  • Act as a liaison to the manager/supervisor regarding issue resolution.
  • Perform all tasks of a Medical Assistant and Medical Assistant Senior.
