About The Position

The Lead Instructor is responsible for the coordination of the Medical Assistant program at the campus.

Requirements

  • Must possess at minimum a High School Diploma or GED
  • Training or degree program in the subject matter field preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years related practical work experience in the subject matter.
  • Must demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge and continuing study of the subject matter
  • Must present a professional image and conduct him/herself in the same manner.
  • Must be able to communicate with staff, faculty, and students.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Must possess skillful attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism
  • Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.
  • Highly motivated and goal‐oriented, with strong problem‐solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and/or overnight for business purposes.
  • RMA or CCMA certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) current or within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of the program, including overseeing daily operations.
  • Conduct faculty meetings and participate in educational conferences, professional training and seminars, as well as staff/department meetings.
  • Advise students on academic and behavioral problems.
  • Hire and terminate instructors in coordination and communications with the Campus Director of Education and Campus Executive Director.
  • Review and verify instructor files.
  • Process student evaluations, grades, and all other required reports and documentation.
  • Assign class and teaching schedules.
  • Follow students for Rates of Progress and GPAs, including all documentation.
  • Oversee maintenance of the inventory of department supplies and submit requests for purchases to Campus Executive Director for replenishment of supplies, as needed.
  • Attend and conduct in‐service training seminars, as required.
  • Advise students regarding attendance and academic progress and concerns, including written documentation.
  • Act as advisor to retain “at‐risk” students.
  • Ensure that all programs are operating under all Department of Education and Accrediting Commission requirements.
  • Complete instructor and course content evaluations on a regular and timely basis.
  • Assist the corporate office in curriculum development and preparation of course materials.
  • Acquire qualified substitute instructors when necessary.
  • Act as a substitute instructor when no other instructor can be located.
  • Oversee maintenance for all equipment used by students.
  • Responsible for all student action notifications in CampusNexus (attendance probation, drops, restarts, LOAs, and transfers).
  • Return student/instructor phone calls daily.
  • Perform student exit interviews every module.
  • Handle all student grievances.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Education or Campus Executive Director.
  • Directly supervises all instructors within the specific program.
