About The Position

The Lead Medical Assistant serves as the first point of contact for patient care, responsible for both administrative and clinical duties. This role involves leading specialized administrative tasks, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and delivering direct patient care based on certification. The Lead Medical Assistant operates with a high degree of independence, making decisions regarding daily priorities and overseeing the work of others.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• 2 - 4 years of Medical Assistant experience in back-office direct patient care.
• Experience in teaching, training, and coaching other Medical Assistants.
• Applicable State licensure in field of study (RMA/CMA).
• Current CPR certification.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude.
• Experience in a fast-paced/high-volume environment.
• Experience with MS Outlook and basic computer knowledge.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification or Registration from recognized associations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
• Experience with HEDIS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patient care.
• Perform clinical duties including discussing symptoms, taking vital signs, and administering injections.
• Input patient information into the electronic medical records system.
• Collect specimens and draw blood as needed.
• Sterilize and clean medical equipment and maintain examination rooms.
• Collaborate closely with Physicians and Nurses to deliver patient care.
• Coordinate work activities and monitor progress towards schedules and goals.
• Oversee the work of other Medical Assistants and manage administrative processes.
