Lead Medicaid Specialist

About The Position

The main purpose of this full-time Medicaid Enrollment Lead Specialist position will be to support the mission of the St. Mary’s County Health Department by ensuring accurate and timely enrollment and renewal of eligible residents in the Medicaid Insurance Program and Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP). This position will also: Provide oversight, guidance, and technical expertise to staff; Serve as a liaison with State Medicaid to resolve complex cases; and Help ensure program integrity while promoting access to essential health coverage for the community. St. Mary’s County Health Department is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of all St. Mary’s County residents. Within the scope of its resources, the health department delivers a variety of services to our community, based on local health needs and federal, state, and county regulations. As the county’s leader in public health, the agency is committed to ensuring that community members have access to personal and environmental health services and information.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Three years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.
Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Candidates may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
