About The Position

The Lead, Media and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) is responsible for supporting First Solar’s public affairs strategy. This role plays a critical part in enhancing situational awareness, monitoring critical developments, and synthesizing disparate information into cohesive narratives that inform the company’s positions, strategic decision-making, and executive communications. The ideal candidate will be curious, detailed-oriented, and analytical. They will have a keen interest in policy, international relations, and geopolitics, and thrive on connecting dots across news, data, policy, and global events. They will be capable of drafting high-quality content for executive audiences and collaborating effectively across functions. They should also be digitally fluent and comfortable using AI tools to enhance research, analysis, and content development. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, International Relations, Political Science, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English.
  • 2–3 years of experience in media relations, intelligence analysis, or strategic communications.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated interest in news, policy, and geopolitics.
  • Experience with media monitoring and OSINT tools.
  • Proficiency in AI tools for research and content development.
  • Strong situational awareness and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience creating content for executive and policy communications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fast-paced, high-stakes environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Putonghua/Mandarin is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor global news, policy developments, industry data, and geopolitical trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Gather and analyze open-source intelligence to support enterprise-wide situational awareness.
  • Draft and edit media materials, executive talking points, and briefing documents.
  • Support the execution of media relations strategies, including media monitoring and engagement tracking.
  • Use AI tools to enhance research, content creation, and situational analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging and intelligence outputs.
  • Maintain awareness of brand reputation and media narratives relevant to First Solar.
  • Contribute to internal reporting and executive summaries on key developments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
