About The Position

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for direct hire in Cary, North Carolina. The selected candidate will mentor and/or manage junior and mid-level mechanical engineering staff members while also working closely with clients to deliver exceptional services in the energy sector. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm This is a Direct Hire position This position can work a Hybrid schedule in Cary, NC (typically ~ 2 days/wk) This position requires a Professional Engineer License (any state) This position may require travel (typically ~ 10%)

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• 10+ years experience in engineering design or consulting
• A Professional Engineer License (any state)
• Experience with heat pump / heat recovery chillers
• Prior experience with personnel management
• US Citizen

Nice To Haves

• Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization / climate response planning, cogeneration or combined heat and power systems and/or thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead a Mechanical Engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors
• Engage with clients, evaluating their energy needs, and develop concept-level plans and solutions; then take these through detailed design to provide for full execution
• Collaborate with our client account managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm
• Anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery
• Strategy formation, business development and sales
