About The Position

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical solutions to challenging electronics packaging challenges. Your strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies will ensure that the products developed under your leadership meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your proficiency in Analysis, CAD software and other design tools will enable you to effectively oversee the design process and ensure the delivery of innovative and high-performance mechanical solutions. You will report directly to our Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Clearwater, Florida location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge mechanical solutions, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications, design and develop complex mechanical systems, and perform mechanical analysis and simulations to ensure product performance and reliability. Honeywell is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our global team of thinkers, innovators, and doers. As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be accountable for providing technical expertise and guidance on various projects and programs. You will work on designing and developing new ideas and solutions for new product development, as well as improving existing products based on market strategy and in-service issues. This role requires a strong background in mechanical design, electronics packaging and Cost Account Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 16+ years of experience in mechanical design and development or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in electronics packaging and PBA build processes
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
  • Experience with mechanical analysis and simulation tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the mechanical design process, from concept to production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications
  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems, components, and assemblies
  • Perform mechanical analysis and simulations to ensure product performance and reliability
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
  • Provide technical expertise as a team lead or member on a variety of projects and programs
  • Utilize expert knowledge of engineering discipline and Honeywell standards, processes, and tools to ensure compliance and completion of projects
  • Guide and represent the team in design reviews and review technical deliverables including schedule and cost
  • Ideate and guide transformational projects to achieve Cost & Schedule
  • Build relationships within the organization, customers, and internal stakeholders
  • Mentor and train the team to achieve objectives in the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components
  • Stay current with emerging technology and actively participate in external forums to represent the organization
  • Advise and consult as a technical expert to drive and implement short and long-term projects
  • Estimate resource requirements and schedule work to meet completion dates and technical requirements
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals and cost estimates, evaluate progress and results, and recommend and direct the implementation of major revisions in approaches
  • Champion initiatives to resolve critical processes and technology-related issues
