About The Position

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical solutions for repair and overhaul applications. Your strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies will ensure that the products developed under your leadership meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Aguadilla, PR location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the mechanical design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products that enhance operational efficiency and safety in aerospace applications. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in mechanical design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with mechanical analysis and simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Engineering degrees such as ME (Mechanical Engineering).
  • Proven track record of successful mechanical design projects.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the mechanical design process, from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications.
  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for repair and overhaul applications.
  • Perform mechanical analysis and simulations to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
