About The Position

Mercury Systems is seeking the best and brightest talent to help us bring cutting-edge technology to mission-critical aerospace and defense applications, advancing innovation where it matters most. The Senior Mechanical Assembler will perform a variety of tasks relating to production operations on electronics and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Targeted start date would be beginning to mid-January.

Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to Chantilly, VA for up to 2 months for training
  • Experience leading a team
  • Minimum of 7 or more years of mechanical assembly experience
  • Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs
  • Experience with mechanical assembly
  • IPC-610/620 and JSTD 001 certification
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Targeted start date: beginning to mid-January 2026

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble and inspect electronic components per documented work instructions.
  • Interpret job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, leadership, and initiatives on a daily basis.
  • Perform a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards.
  • Perform pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts.
  • Disassemble and re-assemble, modify, rework assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
