About The Position

Hello! We are looking for a dedicated Lead Meat Cutter to join the family! Del Real Foods is a traditional Mexican food manufacturer born out of a family farm. Lead Meat Cutter must ensure that all products leaving the plant meet the parameters established for customer satisfaction and quality.

Requirements

  • California Food Handlers Certifications (ANSI-approved provider, such as Premier Food Safety)- Required
  • GMP and Food Safety proficiency
  • Advanced Meat Cutter Knife Skills as defined by (Industry standard) Meat Cutting Precision
  • Math Skills (Addition/ Subtraction/ Division/ Percentages/ Ratios/ Fraction)
  • Full understanding of different meat cutting methods
  • Ability to teach basic and intermediate meat cutting techniques.
  • Knowledge of (lock-out/tag-out) procedures and employee safety practices
  • Ability to learn (SQF Level 2 system) requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of company employee policies.
  • High School/ G.E.D 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field (Food Industry is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Adherence to food quality standard including verifying and report code dates, color, and temperature 
  • Verify that equipment is in good working condition.
  • Moving meat products
  • Delegated to cut more advanced meat products 
  • Ability to operate and trouble shoot all meat cutting machinery (Band Saw, Dicers, Slicers & Tumblers)
  • Effectively operate plant equipment (Machines) to safety standards
  • Cuts 17k - 30K pounds of meat products per day
  • Mentors Meat Butcher I, II & III
  • Orders pallets containing meat products to carryout daily quota.
  • To serve as a liaison between supervisors and workers on the line.
  • Verify that all personnel are present and with required PPE
  • Always Ensuring compliance with good manufacturing practices and safety standards
  • Carry out all the activities fulfilling the good practices of manufacturing.
  • Comply with the regulations of the company
  • Coordinate product changes.
  • Verify date codes stamp, weights, and appearance of the product (product must meet the established parameters and customer expectations)
  • Accurately complete documentation as needed.
  • Maintain work area clean
