About The Position
This position at Yusen Logistics is a Safety Sensitive role that involves coordinating the activities of workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products. Under the direction of a supervisor or manager, the individual will utilize conveyors, industrial trucks, or manual handling to ensure efficient operations. The role requires a strong focus on safety, compliance, and productivity, as well as the ability to lead and motivate a small team of Material Handlers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the team meets production, quality, sanitation, and customer service standards while adhering to safety protocols. The position involves conferring with management to coordinate the flow of products and enforce schedules and estimated labor hours necessary for the effective completion of daily job assignments. The individual will report on the compliance of assigned teams with operational standards and initiatives, participate in recommending Kaizen activities to improve operations, and perform the activities of the workers supervised when required. Leadership by example is crucial, as the individual will directly oversee the work of a small number of employees in the designated warehouse area, ensuring that responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and safety rules. In addition to meeting performance goals, the role includes training employees, assigning and directing workflow, addressing complaints, and resolving minor problems with management assistance. This position is essential for maintaining a productive and safe working environment, contributing to the overall success of Yusen Logistics.
