About The Position

The Lead Material Handler (Loading Team) position is primarily responsible for the effective and efficient building, staging, and loading of products as well as assuming all loading responsibilities in the absence of the Loading Supervisor. Additional duties include but are not limited to:  General housekeeping, properly stocking and rotating product throughout several warehouse locations, organization and staging of shells and pallets, moving and backing tractor/trailer combinations as well as any other duties assigned by the Loading Supervisor and/or Operations Manager. The Lead Material Handler (Loading Team) must be proactive in looking for ways to help WP Beverages sustain and improve effective and efficient business operations.

Requirements

  • High-School diploma with post High-School education preferred but not required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in: Warehousing, Distribution, or Merchandising within a high volume distribution environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Strong organizational, time management and decision making skills with the ability to work within a highly distracting environment.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to operate powered industrial equipment including a fork-truck in a safe manner and maintain annual fork-truck certification.
  • Ability to continually lift 60 pounds from floor to waist height and occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to shoulder height.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, twisting, and/or bending.
  • The repetitive motion of one’s neck, wrist, fingers, and/or arms.
  • Strong management, leadership, and coaching skills with the ability to work with and direct a team.
  • Must possess above average math and personal computing skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Basic mechanical/automotive knowledge with the ability to operate a manual/automatic transmission.
  • Must possess the ability to move and back tractor/trailer combinations of varying sizes.
  • Willingness to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must have a CDL or have their Temporary Permits in place prior to start.
