Lead Material Handler - Distribution Center Location: Shepherdsville, KY, USA - 170 Clermont Road Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2 PM-11:00 PM . Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business. OT is mandatory if required. There will be a $1.50/hr shift differential on top of base pay $2000 signing bonus (externals only) This position is fulltime/permanent- it comes with a great competitive base pay, a shift differential, a signing bonus, it is benefit eligible (health/dental), and offers 401K, generous PTO and other perks. The Lead Material Handler job will involve: Leading a large team of employees on the Warehouse floor, directing work and resources to achieve timely completion of work tasks Solving material issues in location, during pick and pack Managing inventory during batching, pick and pack process Ensuring accuracy and troubleshooting errors in pick/pack process Picking and packing medicine for shipment to hospitals, practices, and pharmacies Maintaining the highest level of productivity and accuracy Working in the Acumax system to ensure all packages ship on time Passion around working for a leading healthcare distribution company focused on distributing medical and surgical supplies and equipment to more than 50% of Americas hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and other healthcare facilities Flexibility when other tasks are assigned by supervisor Other tasks may be assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution center or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Internals must be in good standing in present position and have at least 6 months of service to qualify
  • Work experience in a fast-paced, distribution center or warehouse environment strongly preferred (exposure to picking/packing, scanning, or various other warehouse functions )
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of material handling principles and practices
  • MS Office experience at a basic level
  • Basic math and English reading skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse groups of individuals
  • Actively participates in shift start meetings, lead meetings, department meetings and all other team meetings as required
  • Good critical thinking skills with the ability to see the “big picture” and be proactive
  • Enhanced organization and prioritization in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and/or certification with warehouse equipment such as Forklift, Cherry Picker and Reach Truck. Location is willing to train those with no experience; however the candidate selected must be able to maintain certifications once trained
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
