About The Position

As a Lead Manufacturing Technician here at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our aerospace products. You will collaborate with a team of technicians and engineers to provide technical expertise to support our manufacturing processes and maintain compliance with industry standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will contribute to the success of our projects and the overall growth of our business. You will report directly to our Sr. Quality Engineering Manager and you'll work on site at our Minneapolis, MN location. In this role, you will impact the success of our quality operations by providing quality support and technical expertise to ensure smooth production processes and timely delivery of products. In this role, you will have a significant impact on our Aerospace business unit by leading quality inspections, conducting first article inspections, participate in audits, and implementing corrective actions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards. Your strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities will be instrumental in identifying and resolving quality

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, of which 3 years are in a Technician or a related role
  • Experience with Root Cause Correct Actions
  • First Article Inspection Reports
  • Quality Management System understanding and compliance requirements
  • Strong technical skills in quality inspection and manufacturing processes
  • Experience collaborating with a team of technicians and engineers
  • Ability to work support first shift hours and support overtime requirements as needed
  • Experience redlining documents (part specification and/or work instructions)
  • U.S. CITIZEN REQUIREMENTS: Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university
  • Experience in aerospace industry standards
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001
  • AS9100/ISO9001 Auditing Experience
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead or collaborate with a team of technicians and engineers to provide technical guidance and support to maintain and support product quality
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits to ensure compliance with standards
  • Aid, develop, and support the implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements
  • Generate redlines for quality process documents
  • Support redline reviews for work instructions and processes as needed to support quality directives
  • Review incoming material for conformance, generate dispositions for nonconforming material
  • Generate and change notices and redline specifications and/or work instructions and route through approval process
  • Identify alternate components, submit and track requisitions for purchase
  • Complete first article inspection reports for review and validation by engineering
