About The Position

Direct the work activities of hourly GE trades people in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production industrial equipment components such as electrical systems, machine tools, steel work, plumbing and cooling systems. Plan and execute daily production maintenance priorities maximizing labor resources. Manage aspects of daily operations, indirect parts, variable costs, project installations, lean initiatives and technology developments. Implement safety initiatives to reduce daily employee hazards and reduce injuries. This role involves identifying equipment problems and implementing long term corrective solutions, executing business critical decisions in a timely manner, and meeting safety, quality, production, and delivery metrics within a particular cell. You will work closely with the Operations Manager providing weekly metrics on performance, schedules on critical repairs, as well as daily updates on critical equipment.

Requirements

  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • Have a minimum of two years industrial manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of common computer tools, software, machine applications, portable electronic devices and technology applications.
  • Comprehend technical drawings, equipment schematics and the identification and ordering of parts.
  • Possess effective communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the workforce.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess college degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics or similar.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical control systems.
  • Ability to effectively lead others.
  • Have a minimum of three years electrical maintenance, repair, and installation experience.
  • Manufacturing equipment or military maintenance with training.
  • Have a minimum of five years industrial manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with maintenance CMMS systems (MAXIMO/L2L).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute daily production maintenance priorities maximizing labor resources.

  • Execute business critical decisions in a timely manner and meet safety, quality, production, and delivery metrics within a particular cell.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager providing weekly metrics on performance, schedules on critical repairs, as well as daily updates on critical equipment.
  • Perform administrative duties in a timely manner including time and attendance, workforce training requirements, safety meetings, self audits, Injury & Illness reporting, work order and safety work order backlog control, and overtime management.
  • Schedule and validate all preventive maintenance by using the CMMS maintenance and work order system.
  • Develop project specific scopes of work, cost estimates, schedule, and manage large and small facilities maintenance and repair projects.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful work climate with all employees.
  • Communicate to employees all business goals and objectives.
  • Motivate and drive productivity among the work force using sound human relation skills.
