Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical or related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical or related experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Domestic travel up to 10-20% or as needed.

  • Prior experience in Aerospace manufacturing processes and materials, component manufacturing and assembly.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace Quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Masters degree in mechanical/manufacturing/industrial/production engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage expertise in advanced machining, non-conventional methods including laser/ECM/EDM, welding, joining, fabrication, composites, ceramics, coatings, additive.
  • Develop process methods, tooling and fixtures, programming and running production.
  • Work closely with design engineers to ensure that designs are manufacturable.
  • Integrate manufacturing process capabilities early in the design cycle to optimize production efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps aligned to product needs and execute on technology projects.
  • Mature MRL milestones and support successful deployment at production.
  • Ensure process development and planning to enable full rate production meeting quality standards and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate and develop new suppliers, working with them on process development and production readiness.
  • Analyze and estimate the cost of manufacturing processes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in and potentially chair technical reviews ensuring that manufacturing considerations are incorporated into the design process.
  • Uphold safety and quality, fostering a lean culture adopting FLIGHT DECK.
