About The Position

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for process improvements for all manufacturing processes, with a focus on material efficiency, ergonomics, and product quality. You will work with production teams to identify specific improvement projects, and analyzes impact on material/labor cost, product quality, and employee safety. You will provide technical support for improvement projects from the initial research stage to implementation in production; this would include prototype building, possible construction, employee training and testing the new process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of relevant engineering experience, working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • One year of experience creating Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plans.
  • One year of experience with Lean | Six Sigma projects and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive facility capability and capacity improvement through Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and other processes to support efficiency improvement and sales growth.
  • Support and execute capital plans to support capability, capacity, and efficiency to develop new key plant processes in support of sales growth and product line expansion.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules and requirements, estimating future requirements.
  • Work directly with direct production to troubleshoot and improve processes, including fabrication, assembly, measuring, and testing of products manufactured.
  • Manage activities and budgets for manufacturing and process improvement projects, including the development of the project management requirements and all implementation documentation.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives utilizing continuous improvement framework.
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing data and metrics to aid in design and improvement of processes.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety responsibilities by following established EHS policies, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, corrective action implementation.
  • Manage the creation of standard work and standard cycle times.
