About The Position

In this role you will lead the development, improvement, & implementation of manufacturing processes associated with rotating components for aircraft engines. This role will require you to take full responsibility of the assigned hardware and implement robust manufacturing processes to achieve the product quality, cost and capacity targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college + 3 years of experience in manufacturing
  • with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years plus experience within the aerospace manufacturing industry particularly in machining aerospace alloys (turning, milling, grinding). Masters degree in engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience with NPI for aerospace rotating parts. Able to design robust processes including process layout, selection of cutting tools, design of workholding, process documentation, provide input into quality plan, develop NC Programs, etc
  • Previous experience creating machining programs using CAM Software (Siemens NX experience preferred)
  • Previous experience with CAD, 3D solid modeling and fixture/tooling design (Siemens NX experience preferred)
  • Ability to read & understand CNC machine code (G & M code programming)
  • Works well independently and within cross-functional group settings
  • Ability to influence and lead small teams
  • Quick learner with passion for implementing new technologies & methods
  • Curious, Creative, & passionate about life-long learning
  • Project management skills including experience with purchasing and commissioning capital equipment

  • Lean experience required, Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent quality training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research & implement manufacturing technologies to achieve continuous improvement targets
  • Prepare job documentation, including clearly written work instructions and tool sheets
  • Lead and conduct process improvement & optimization activities in support of manufacturing yield, cycle, cost, safety, & inventory
  • Work within cross-functional teaming organization spanning production, quality, product design engineering, sourcing, etc.
  • Achieve error-proofing & maximize equipment utilization through implementation of closed loop machining (part probing, tool probing, etc)
  • Lead and conduct process improvement & optimization activities in support of manufacturing yield, cycle, cost, safety, & inventory
  • Assist in solving manufacturing quality issues using root cause analysis & implementing corrective actions
  • Present to senior leaders in specific technical space and on cross functional teams how technologies interconnect, contribute to our overall site strategy, and support value stream
