About The Position

As a member of the Process Industrialization team, you will be an active contributor to create, maintain, and execute the standard in how to develop and industrialize manufacturing processes using a team-based approach. This role sits within the Process Industrialization team and will execute development and improvement efforts around fixtures and part movement. With a heavy focus on safety and quality the role will execute technical development of connected processes, designing building and implementing standard fixture solutions, no lift solutions, machine loading/unloading, and overall part movement through production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of manufacturing experience)
  • Minimum of 4 additional years of experience in Production Process and Equipment OR MIT graduates with a minimum of 2 years in Production Process & Equipment via academic or professional / internship experiences
  • Experience with GD&T and CAD
  • Ability to work off-shift or flexible schedule at times as required by project timelines
  • Ability and desire to work on site in a manufacturing environment
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
  • GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Responsibilities

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy and roadmap initiatives
  • Execute hand offs for new product introductions, part and technology transfers, new process introductions, and strategic plant and equipment investments; inclusive of lead time, technology selection, tooling, fixturing, programming, quality plan, and run-off of initial production sets
  • Execute hands-on development of new products and processes enabling a successful hand-off to the production team
  • Manage project timelines to meet customer needs with a strong focus on safety, process quality, and internal customer needs
  • Strong ability to identify and eliminate waste
  • Engineering, standardizing, and optimizing manufacturing processes
  • Participate in productivity efforts supporting cost competitiveness
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles into process development
  • Utilize kaizen activities for continuous improvement and collaborate with wider team on breakthrough initiatives
