About The Position

The Lead Mammography Technologist manages the imaging department by establishing hospital practices and procedures compliant with the Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program (MQSA) guidelines. This Lead Tech oversees MQSA inspections, American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditations, Physicist surveys, technologist certifications and patient education. Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a registered mammography technologist (required)
  • Certification and Registration in Mammography, ARRT (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care)

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience with biopsies and understand mamo workflow processes and MQSA
  • 2 years of experience as a lead radiologic technologist (preferred)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
  • Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred)
  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
  • Associate's from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all daily hospital operations related to mammography services (e.g., scheduling service, safety, patient care, and equipment maintenance).
  • Performs all mammographic and breast imaging related procedures.
  • Supervises Mammography Technologists and Students and maintains proper staffing levels.
  • Demonstrates a financial acumen to collect and analyze department data.
