The position involves performing routine and extensive work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities and equipment within established guidelines, policies, and procedures. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of various maintenance tasks and the ability to develop effective relationships with residents, staff, and vendors.

Perform minor building, ventilation/air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other maintenance work as necessary.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, administration, and other service providers.
Identify larger maintenance projects that need to be contracted to vendors and work with the Director of Residential Programs to obtain proposals, select the vendor, coordinate work, and supervise vendors.
Perform regular inspections per regulatory guidelines.
Troubleshoot, service, and report mechanical malfunctions.
Maintain inventory of repair equipment, tools, and supplies.
Maintain a schedule and perform all regular preventive maintenance on the campus and vehicles.
Comply with safety regulations by reporting and removing safety hazards.
Respond to emergency calls during and after hours.
Move and assist in the transportation of furniture and equipment.
Set up and break down equipment and furniture for functions.
Conduct all essential functions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Assist in training employees on simple home maintenance tasks.

Ability to follow directions.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Ability to communicate both in person and digitally or in writing.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to take responsibility for challenges.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
Experience working with industrial tools and equipment.
Experience in building and grounds maintenance work.
3+ years of related experience in a non-profit environment.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Bachelor’s degree or relevant combination of education/experience.
