About The Position

As a Maintenance Lead Person, the ideal candidate must ensure that workers, equipment, and materials are used properly to maximize productivity. This role involves creating work schedules, keeping production and employee records, monitoring employees, and ensuring work is done correctly and on time. The Lead Person organizes workers' activities, makes necessary adjustments to ensure uninterrupted work, trains new workers, and ensures a safe working environment. Responsibilities include working with contractors, leading repair and improvement projects, and maintaining manufacturing equipment (such as CNC Laser Cutting, Welding Equipment, and Abrasive Blasting Equipment) as well as facilities equipment and systems (like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression & detection, and various mechanical devices). Daily duties encompass emergency and preventive maintenance and assisting engineers with process and machinery improvements. Requirements

  • Must be an organized, self-starter, with above average problem-solving ability.
  • Must be able to work alone and unsupervised while under intense pressure from Production customers.
  • Must be able to work as part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined team while achieving your highest potential performance.
  • Associate degree in electrical or mechanical technology, plus 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance group, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction both commercial and industrial.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing both commercial and industrial.
  • Demonstrated electrical knowledge both commercial and industrial.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fire suppression and detection systems.
  • Proficient with the use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality System, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and Inventory Management.
  • Previous leadership experience (i.e. lead person, crew leader, etc.)
  • Multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Experience with PCs and Windows software.
  • Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

  • Database experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a variety of contractors on site while maintaining the facility through the resources available
  • Lead both repair & improvement projects.
  • Interpersonal tasks
  • Informs workers about company plans and policies.
  • Recommends good performers for wage increases, awards, or promotions and deals with poor performance by outlining expectations, counseling workers in proper methods, issuing warnings, or recommending disciplinary action.
  • Meet with supervisor regularly to report problems, discuss possible solutions, and departmental goals.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment, both automated and manual, including CNC Laser Cutting, Welding Equipment, Abrasive Blasting Equipment.
  • Maintaining Facilities equipment and systems such as HVAC equipment, electrical systems, general site plumbing, fire suppression & detection systems and various mechanical devices used throughout the facility.
  • Daily emergency and preventive maintenance on any machine or system in the facility.
  • Assisting production and manufacturing engineers with process and machinery improvements.
