The Lead Maintenance Technician possesses strong technical skills, with proven success supporting department and operational goals in an industrial environment. The Lead Maintenance Technician is able to leverage their experience and skills to lead the investigation and solution of challenging technical problems. By collaborating with Operations Area Managers and Directors, the Lead Maintenance Technician prioritizes the team workload to drive exceptional team outcomes in support of operational goals. The Lead Maintenance Technician coaches, mentors, develops, and empowers team members on both technical and behavioral competencies in an effort to deliver high impact business results. Not only does the Lead Maintenance Technician assist with performing complex automated material handling system projects and repairs, but the Lead is responsible for the Company's production and organization of workflow, R&D, maintenance, ordering of supplies, supervising and training team members, promoting safety and teamwork, conveyor belt fabrication, other fabricators, workflow, quality of the workshop, and several other administrative duties. To be successful, the Lead Maintenance Technician must possess advanced knowledge of automated conveyor systems, the ability to work collaboratively with numerous members of the operation, and supervisory skills that enable the Lead to balance the maintenance team's capacity with prioritized activities. Overall, the Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of conveyor systems and developing plans on how the team will accomplish department and operational objectives.
