This apartment community has 504 units and is located in West Bloomfield, MI. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the property in a safe, attractive and comfortable condition. This individual will maintain relationships with other service staff, residents and vendors. Some key responsibilities will include providing the highest level of customer service, make regular inspections of grounds and buildings as part of a preventative maintenance plan, complete service requests and assist with the apartment make-ready process. The Lead Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

• Strong customer service
• Strong facilities maintenance background of 1+ year
• At least one year of leadership experience required in a related field
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Valid Driver's License with auto insurance required
• EPA Certification required
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Must be available after hours and weekends for on-call responsibilities (rotated schedule)
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
• Position requires ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear
• Must be able to lift or move 100lbs occasionally

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and experience with pools highly preferred, CPO desired

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartment homes for occupancy by making any necessary repairs
• Complete work orders in occupied homes while providing fast, friendly service
• Assists in organization and assignment of service work orders at the Maintenance Supervisor's direction
• Follow preventive maintenance guidelines
• Maintain property grounds
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance and all other service requests
• Team work to achieve property goals
• Follow safety procedures
• Assists in maintaining inventory, required company logs, orderliness, and safety of tools, equipment, supplies and maintenance shop
• Assists with mentoring and training other grounds and maintenance technicians at the Maintenance Supervisor's direction
• Accept on-call responsibilities (rotated schedule)
