About The Position

Vera French Community Mental Health Center is looking for a reliable, skilled Maintenance Technician to help maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of our properties. This role works closely with the Director of Housing & Property Management and Facilities Superintendent to ensure our buildings and grounds meet the highest standards. This is a full-time position with rotating on-call responsibilities shared among the maintenance team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience, including basic repairs
  • Team lead or project leadership experience required
  • Knowledge of building maintenance, tools, and equipment repair
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and a smartphone for work tasks
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including on-call rotation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in healthcare, housing, or with vulnerable populations

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections across multiple properties
  • Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues including plumbing, lighting, and general carpentry
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
  • Help ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Lead or assist with maintenance projects as needed
  • Coordinate with vendors, obtain bids, and support project recommendations
  • Maintain safe, clean, and functional buildings and grounds
  • Assist with snow and ice removal or coordinate with outside vendors
