About The Position

As the Advanced Maintenance Technician, you will supervise and direct the Maintenance function of the facilities department. You will install, troubleshoot, service and maintain equipment and systems at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital. Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent
Must possess the ability to interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and service manuals
Must possess the ability to perform water treatment chemical analysis and make chemical intake compensations
Must possess ability to install new equipment such as Nurse Call Stations, Electrical Appliances (up to 480 volt), Steam Equipment (Low Pressure), Alarm Systems, Mechanical Equipment, Pneumatic or Hydraulic Equipment, Computer Control Systems, Plumbing, etc.
Must possess a current driver's license and be insurable under the Hospital auto policy
Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the Maintenance function of the facilities department.
Install, troubleshoot, service and maintain equipment and systems at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital.
Troubleshoot and repair utility systems such as Low-Pressure Steam Systems, Electrical Distribution Systems (480 volt 3-phase to low voltage signal circuits), HVAC Systems, Plumbing Supply and Soiled Water Systems, Flammable Gas or Medical Gas Systems, Communications, Fire Alarm System, Boiler Maintenance (steam and hot water), etc.
Alter or remove utility systems to accommodate projects or utility alterations or improvements as per engineered blueprints or drawings.
Accept on-call duty during the absence of the manager (ETO, illness, etc.) to respond to any emergency situation.
Accept on-call duty for other situations as agreed upon between the employee and hospital.
Repair or replace existing electrical circuits and conduits.
Install new electrical services for equipment or lighting.
Work with circuits up to 480 volts/three phase.
Rewire motor starters and control circuits.
Interpret NEC.
Repair or replace existing plumbing lines in supply or soiled water applications.
Work with metals and PVC in new or existing applications.
Repair or replace traps, gaskets, stations, or valves in low pressure applications.
Install new steam services.
Perform water treatment analysis and make necessary adjustments.
Explain steam and cooling tower fundamentals.
Weld various metals.
Install and repair drywall in metal-stud applications.
Repair or replace ductwork and mechanical controls.
Repair or replace communications systems such as Nurse Call, Intercom, Radio, and Dictation.
Contact manufacturers for technical assistance when needed and place order for service and/or repair parts.
Perform Data Input of New Equipment in Utility Management System.
Write, Schedule, and Generate PM's in Utility Management System.
Generate Equipment History reports in Utility Management System.
Perform Level "A" activities in the AIMS System.
