About The Position

Under the direction of the Facility & Maintenance Manager, assists in managing all maintenance activities throughout the Organization’s buildings and all assigned outside areas. Major duties include conducting repairs within assigned locations, acting as resource for all maintenance staff, monitoring work orders throughout the Organization and serving as a project lead on special assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of grounds and facility maintenance.
  • Ability to schedule, train, and supervise staff.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and or direction from supervisor.
  • Ability to problem solve department issues and make recommendations for problems and department improvement.
  • High School education or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of three 3 years construction and/or maintenance experience and supervisory experience.
  • Level 2: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have beginner knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record and current private auto insurance policy.
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Sitting, standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Perform work outside and inside; exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, electricity, noise, fumes and chemicals.
  • Level 4: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public.
  • Level 4: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct facility maintenance and coordinate scheduled repairs for assigned locations.
  • Assist and direct internal maintenance staff, as needed.
  • Monitor organization`s computerized work order system with follow up as needed.
  • Assist supervisor with scheduling and planning of route assignments and special projects.
  • Assist manager in developing and scheduling continued education training for maintenance staff.
  • Contact vendors as needed to follow up on maintenance by outside vendors.
  • Maintain open, clear lines of communication, both written and verbal, with department staff, store personnel and all team members.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and work cooperatively to provide quality service.
  • Lead and uphold compliance with all Goodwill safety programs and policies, ensuring they are consistently followed across the organization.
  • Provide input to the evaluation of maintenance team personnel performance.
  • Assist with inventory and maintenance of the department`s resources, including equipment, hand tools, supplies and work vans.
  • Source specialty items and new vendors as needed.
  • Lead special projects as assigned by the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
