About The Position

The Lead Maintenance Specialist at Intertape Polymer Group (IPG) is responsible for guiding the maintenance team to ensure the safety and efficiency of facilities and equipment. This role emphasizes continuous improvement, equipment uptime, and compliance with safety standards. The specialist will oversee maintenance projects, manage databases for tracking maintenance activities, and coordinate the sourcing of necessary supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum associate degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and understand manufacturing maintenance responsibilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and conscientious.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering and maintenance teams with projects, equipment installations, repairs, and modifications.
  • Lead some projects with minimal oversight from engineering.
  • Oversee and maintain maintenance management database systems for accurate tracking of maintenance labor hours and inventory management.
  • Maintain work order database, input work orders, track trends, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and assist with sourcing and purchasing maintenance and facilities equipment and supplies.
  • Plan and assign daily maintenance activities with a focus on safety.
  • Coach and train maintenance team to ensure skills meet operational requirements.
  • Provide input to Maintenance Manager on team skills and performance.
  • Plan and administer preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for timely and accurate completion of activities.
  • Serve as backup to ISO Coordinator for various ISO duties.
  • Support and promote safe working practices within the facility.
  • Participate in and coordinate action plans for plant-wide improvement activities or projects.
