About The Position

The Lead Mailroom Associate provides oversight of mail and shipping/receiving services, delivering operational functions in the following areas: processing of inbound/outbound mail, distributing/delivering of mail, shipping and receiving product and supplies to support onsite business service center in a timely manner. This position leads (with direction on supervisor) the client services onsite. Overall, this position continuously offers the highest level of service to all client and SPS employees while maintaining a professional image of the company by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and mailroom-related systems and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including proper packing methods.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive materials.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred, with 1+ year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work assigned schedules and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Commitment to adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Regular physical activity, including lifting packages up to 40 lbs. and up to 60 lbs. using a wheeled cart.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate standard office and mailroom equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using vision, hearing, and oral/written comprehension.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all employees and serve as the primary point of contact for mail and package inquiries.
  • Receive, process, log, distribute, and ship mail and packages using chain-of-custody systems while maintaining accurate records.
  • Operate and maintain mailroom and office equipment, including postage meters, copiers, and folding/inserting machines.
  • Oversee daily mailroom operations, including task assignments, workflow prioritization, and progress tracking.
  • Train and support backup staff and provide guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized Business Service Center and monitor office supply levels, submitting work orders as needed.
  • Provide reception, concierge, or hospitality coverage when required.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor to support day-to-day operational needs and staffing requirements.
