About The Position

Lying just inland between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Adventist Health Reedley has been serving the Central Valley since 2011. We are comprised of a 49-bed acute care hospital and 60 clinics in 27 rural communities with primary and specialty care services. Reedley is a perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts as it is located in the central San Joaquin Valley portion of California, close to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. In addition to the beautiful landscape, it also offers a great cost of living and close-knit communities. Job Summary: Performs procedures which require specialized training for general nursing care and related services for assigned patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD), in accordance with established policy. Participates in the planning for and provision of patient care. Uses knowledge of asepsis in performance of treatments, such as sterile dressings, irritations and cauterizations. Provides functional direction to ancillary personnel. Demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP): Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Arrhythmia certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides care for assigned patients, under the supervision of an Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standard and nursing process.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope and substantial complexity.
  • Mentors and trains staff on technical skills.
  • Performs admission assessments, and ongoing re-assessments based on departmental specific policy and procedures.
  • Assists in the development of a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care on each patient.
  • Implements and coordinates plan of care utilizing appropriate organizational skills and reporting mechanisms.
  • Implements individual teaching plans, including Patient Teaching Protocols and discharge Plans, based on mutual goal setting and with emphasis on patient decision making.
  • Performs assigned clinical procedures (i.e. phlebotomy, injections, drug screens, etc.)
  • Administers medications.
  • Orders/restocks supplies as assigned, according to established par levels.
  • Maintains neatness/cleanliness in assigned areas.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
