About The Position

Infosys is seeking a Lead Linux/Unix Administrator . The role requires deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, automation mindset, and the ability to work closely with architects, application teams, and customers. Required Skills: Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Memphis, TN or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education. At least 7 years of Information Technology experience. At least 6 years of experience in Linux Administration and support. End‑to‑end administration of Linux and Unix systems in large enterprise environments Installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, and lifecycle management of Linux/Unix servers Manage OS platforms such as RHEL, Oracle Linux, SUSE, Ubuntu, and Unix variants (Solaris / AIX / HP‑UX as applicable) Perform kernel tuning, performance optimization, and capacity planning Strong expertise in troubleshooting production issues related to CPU, memory, disk, filesystem, and network Develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash/KSH) for automation and operational efficiency Hands‑on experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible preferred) Work on incident, problem, change, and request management in ITIL‑based environments Participate in 24x7 on‑call and critical incident bridges when required Collaborate with application teams, DB teams, network teams, and customers Mentor junior engineers (L1/L2/L3) and provide technical guidance Contribute to migration, modernization, and transformation initiatives Candidates authorized to work for any employer in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship are welcome to apply. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
