About The Position

As a Lead Line Cook at Ferndale Project, you will play a key leadership role in our scratch kitchen, supporting daily kitchen operations while working closely with the Area General Manager on ordering, inventory, and overall kitchen execution. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys setting the tone for quality, consistency, and teamwork. In addition to working the line, the Lead Line Cook helps oversee kitchen flow, supports staff, and ensures opening and closing procedures are completed accurately and consistently.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook; lead or key-holder experience preferred
  • Experience with dough production and scratch-made kitchens preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume kitchen environment strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and take ownership of shifts
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and operational standards
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to lead by example

Nice To Haves

  • Prepare pizza dough according to established recipes and procedures (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Cook items on the line by grilling, frying, chopping, sautéing, and assembling dishes
  • Prepare pizza dough according to established recipes and procedures (preferred)
  • Complete opening and closing kitchen duties, including station setup/breakdown, prep, cleaning, and securing food storage
  • Ensure prep lists, pars, and station readiness are met for each shift
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety at all times
  • Support the Area General Manager with ordering, inventory management, and proper storage and rotation of product
  • Help oversee daily kitchen operations, including pacing, communication, and execution during service
  • Assist with training, coaching, and supporting line cooks and prep staff
  • Work collaboratively with front- and back-of-house teams to ensure accurate and timely orders
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented approach with coworkers and guests
