About The Position

Lift Operators are responsible for the safe operation, loading, riding and unloading of their respective lifts. Lead Operators are responsible for overseeing and leading the daily operation of their assigned chairlifts

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Proven Lift Operator with a minimum of 1 full year of experience It can be at Homewood or another resort
  • Have excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and courtesy.
  • Responsible for organizing breaks and lunch breaks
  • Must be able to work in the United States.
  • Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate with guests confidently and assertively to ensure their safety
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to realize when something could go wrong
  • Responsible for guest safety and preventing injury
  • Must display top notch customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Beginner to Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability is desirable.
  • Additional language(s) desirable but not required
  • Minimum 1 season as a Lift Operator

Responsibilities

  • Asks questions, shares concerns, or gives ideas on innovation and efficiencies that improve both the guests’ and employees’ experience.
  • Ensures chairlift loading and unloading areas are free of debris, smooth, and ready for guest/employee loading and unloading
  • Leads the team and delegates tasks when necessary
  • Sets up proper mazes and signage depending on the demand for the day
  • Periodically check signage to ensure it is still up to par.
  • Engaged and focused to safely load/unload passengers in chairlift carriers
  • Continuously coaching/teaching Lift Operators on proper chair loading techniques
  • Extra assistance may be needed for children or those who ask for it
  • Snow removal as required.
