About The Position

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Summit Club, set outside of Las Vegas, NV. Summit Club is seeking a Lifeguard to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department. This is a seasonal position beginning April 5, 2026 and ending October 3, 2026. Current lifeguard certification is required. The Lead Lifeguard is responsible for overseeing the safety of our aquatic areas by managing Lifeguard staff, monitoring and enforcing safety regulations, and ensure compliance for the pool areas. In addition to monitoring the water safety, the Lead Lifeguard will also be responsible for monitoring the pool deck. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees. The Lead Lifeguard is tasked with the same responsibilities as regular Lifeguards, but with additional demand placed on leadership, communication, and attention to detail. The Lead Lifeguard will be the point person for all pool staff.

Requirements

  • Lifeguard Certification required.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED Certification required.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions in English.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • No specific degree required - though a bachelor's may be desirable
  • 2 years working in an aquatic environment preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Surveying activity in the pool to ensure the safety of all our members and guests.
  • Maintain an organized appearance of the pool area throughout the day.
  • Ensure daily set up and breakdown of all activities and equipment is completed.
  • Report any safety or maintenance concerns immediately to the Clubhouse Manager.
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations.
  • Provide risk management for aquatic areas.
  • Perform first aid treatments when necessary.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as necessary.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
